Spa water

An age-old secret flows silently beneath us

The richness of our spas is due to the waters that belong to the category of deep underground waters and are chemically classified as saline-bromine-iodine thermal water with a fixed residue at 180° C of 5-6 grams of salt per litre.

Origin of the thermal water

From the Pre-Alps, the rainwater penetrates the ground to a depth of about 3000m., enriching it with mineral salts and becoming progressively warmer. It takes over 25 years for it to travel about 100 km to reach the Euganean area where, due to the particular structural conditions of the soil, it ascends rapidly up to the spa springs, reaching a temperature of about 87° C.

Spa water

The chemical data show that it is a high quality and highly mineralized spa water with a wide spectrum of therapeutic virtues, which make this area the spa village par excellence in the world.
Warm and pleasant, rich and prized, beneficial and therapeutic, the spa water is used for aging the mud, for inhalation therapies, and in the spa baths and pools.

The water temperature in the pools is kept at 33° and the constant temperature is maintained by an automatic system that ensures the hygiene and safety of the waters.
At the AbanoRitz, the thermal gap between the over 80° of the water as it comes out of our spring and the temperature used in the recreational and curative spa bath (33°-38°), produces geothermal energy so the hotel is heated with the thermal gradient of the spa water. So the AbanoRitz has been using Green Energy for 50 years!
